Women’s Christian Fellowship

We, the women of the Women’s Christian Fellowship at Peakland Baptist Church, are called by God, bound by faith, united in fellowship, and engaged in God’s work of mission and outreach.

W.O.M.

(Women On a Mission)

A very active Women on a Mission works on a variety of mission projects throughout the year. Usually these projects support one or more of the special missions of the church. The meetings are usually in the evening at the church. Our church calendar should be consulted for the dates and locations.

                                                       OWLS

                               (Older Wiser Ladies Sisterhood)

The OWLS began in the early ’90’s with a small group of members who are dedicated to visiting shut-in friends, often taking hand made gifts crafted by the group.  They are also asked to create church decorations as many of the members have special art and craft talents.  They demonstrate that “actions speak louder than words”, and their visitations are proudly filled with warm hearts, good news from the church, and respect and love.

                                           CIRCLE ONE

This group of Ladies have a very long history at Peakland Baptist Church.  They meet the second Monday of each month at 11:00 am. Meetings typically have a guest speaker that is connected to the Lynchburg Region. Many of these speakers are representatives from missions that the church supports in the area. After the speaker the women enjoy lunch and a time of fellowship. They support and sponsor special missions out of the church’s budgeted community missions. They also like to focus on getting to know newer members as well as hearing the history of family involvement in our church. Many of their meetings happen outside of the church. These include special luncheons at local restaurants as well as field trips to many of the mission projects we support.
